I love cooking. I love making things from scratch and as healthy as possible. But sometimes I like it easy and convenient. So yeah. I use ready made things, or stuff that comes from a box.
Nope. Not ashamed to admit it.
So don't even come at me. 😂😂😂
What you need:
● raspberry jello(or any other flavour fruit you have at home that needs eating lol) feel free to make your own jello, specially
● chocolate pudding, or vanilla, or any other flavour you like
● Small amount of fruit the flavour of your jello just enough to put in between the layers of jello and pudding and some to decorate
● desert glasses (or just pretty drinking glasses)
● muffin tin for tilting the glasses
● something to keep the glasses from sliding in your tin, like cupcake liners. I have silicone ones that are reusable, so no waste there, but you can use bits of crumpled paper or something else.
For my vegan readers: HERE is a video on how to make vegan jello with just 3 ingredients.
And to substitute the pudding, try vegam mousse made with aquafava (water from canned garbanzo beans). I have actually tried it and it turned out really nice. HERE is a link to a YouTube. (I am not affiliated with the videos, just thought of making it easier for you to find the how to's.)
I had some raspberries that needed using up.
So I made an easy desert.
I made raspberry jello (from a package, because I am lazy, but making your own jello is not super hard, if you prefer that).
I was lied to by jello! The package announced there was a fast setting option, if you used ice cubes. My left leg! After 45 minutes it was still only soft set.
It may have been the whipping cream experiment. But let's not dwell on my mistakes.😆😂😳😉
For the pudding again you can chose what you like. I like chocolate with raspberries, but my husband does not like chocolate at all, so this time I used a cheesecake flavoured pudding.
It was a fast desert for sure and a welcome cool treat for the afternoon.
I don't have fancy desert glasses. So I used some drinking glasses my daughter gave us as a present last December. I love them a lot. ❤
How to make it:
First place the cupcake liners, or crumpled up paper into the muffin tin and set the glasses on top at an angle. Then make the jello according to the package (if you want it opake, replace some of the cold water with heavy cream, milk, or milk substitute. I did that in mine and had mixed results as stated). Pour the jello into the glasses and let set. Just before the jello is all the way set, drop a few bits of fruit on it. The fruit should not sink to the bottom, but should also not sit on top, so it will stay put when you straighten up the glass later. I hope that makes sense.)
Once the jello is set, make the pudding according to the package. If you are vegan, try making a mousse from the water that comes in a can of garbanzo beans. That would work well with this too. There are many recipes out there for this, sorry, I have not written one down yet.
If you are like me, you have to spoon the pudding into the glasses, because it set on you while you were off daydreaming while whipping it up. So spoon it into the glasses and decorate with more fruit, whipping cream, sprinkles, chocolate flakes or whatever strikes you as fancy.
I put a slrig of mint on it. Nope, not even embarrassed. 😂
Give it some time in the fridge to allow everything to cool down, specially now in summer.
Awesome! Definitely going to follow along! Thanks!
Good! I am starting to post updates on my website! You can follow there: www.deannawashington.com
Thank you. How is the meditation fence coming along?
I love those glasses! The recipe looks yum!
