New year, new projects

So this is 2022 y'all.

It's been off to a wild start already in some aspecrs.

Alas, some things never change and at the beginning of each year, with spring approaching in big steps, I am ready to breathe a bit of fresh air and colour into ouaspects.

Usually I start slow, by sorting out my table linens and napkins. Checking what needs replacing and what I can do with the remnants of the old things.

I also knit and crochet new dishcloths.

I have my go to patterns, but I also always look for new ones that might put a smile on my face.

This year I thought I put together a round up of a few of my faves and a few new ones that will make an appearance at my house this year.

Maybe you will find one you like as well.

First off is the tried and true diagonal dishcloth. This is my absolute go to. I have made this one so often in all kinds of different colours, with and without the holes. It is beginner friendly and you can even embroider on it if you wish.

Next the little flower dishcloths.🌸 I adore this one. It is so cute, and makes me smile every time I do the dishes. I have also given them as gifts along with a pretty piece of handmade soap, or some other skin care product. Because it is definitely cute enough to be a washcloth for your face and body.

In addition, I think I will make these leaf shaped ones.🍃 That might make a cute combo to go with the flowers. I'm going to grab some cotton yarn and make them in fun spring colours, to liven up the place a bit. I also saw this pattern worked with a garter stitch border around. That looked very smart indeed.

Three hand knitted dish cloths. Two green and white variegated leaf shaped ones and one pink heart shaped one.

I love making pretty things that brighten up my daily chores. This year I think I will add some of these adorable heart shaped dishcloths as well. I am a romantic all the way. Some will go into my kitchen and some will go into the gift giving pile.

I have made several of these round scrubbies. They are my husband's favourite for the pans and are a staple in my must make pile.

I have found a new crochet round scrubby pattern, which is rather intriguing and have made one prototype to try out. I think mine came out a bit too big maybe, not the biggest fan of it...but I am.leaving the pattern here for you to check out.

Here is a very nice waffle crochet dishcloth. 🧇This pattern, expanded a bit, makes great reusable swiffer cloths.

And last, but not least, I found this absolutely lighthearted and fun toast dishcloth. 🍞

It is crochet and comes with a very detailed YouTube tutorial. I plan on making a loaf of dishcloths as a present this year lol.

I guess I will be busy these next few months lol.

Here is hoping these links will make finding your next dishcloth pattern a bit easier.😉

Xo,❤
