In out last csa box were Nectarines and Apricots.🍑
As I sat there, munching my way through the goodness, it occurred to me, that I could sprout a seed for my daughter to grow on her farm.
Next thing I knew I was outside, cutting the seed apart with my little saw.
That's when it hit me! I bet you could carve these! (Yes. I am aware that this has been a thing for hundreds of years, and that I am reinventing the wheel, but this is how my brain works lol.)
So I kept thinking on it and kept hording the rest of the seeds, when I remembered all the avocado pits and skins I collect for fabric dyeing.
Oooohhhhh! 🥑
Off I went to check them out and have a go. Not too shabby for a first timer! A spiral/snail, a bunny and a mushroom.
Carving avocado pits is so much fun. I have already alerted all my friends to keep theirs for me lol
I think I will carve an avocado out of one next 😂
The ones in the photo still need to finish drying and I don't have any linseed or Tung oil right now, but they will get a beeswax coating once they are dry and a few will go up in the shop for sure when I have more.
